We are gearing up for our 3rd annual Night In A Car event!

WHAT IS A NIGHT IN A CAR?

Night In A Car is a homelessness simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience–living in their cars. Participants will “live” out of their cars during the overnight hours and learn about challenges facing homeless families in our area.

We are choosing to sleep in our cars for one night so that others don't have to.

This event is a fundraiser for Bridge of Hope Centre County, an organization that is working to end homelessness for single mothers and their children by providing rental assistance, case management, and connection to a loving community, thereby creating a neighborhood of support for each family as they work toward long-term stability.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THIS EVENT TAKE PLACE?

This overnight event begins Friday, March 22, at 7 pm until Saturday the 23rd at 8 am. The simulation will be done “drive-in” style at Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte – 512 Hughes St. The church will be open for bathroom breaks and coffee, as well as for our programming and breakfast debriefing. Most of the night will be spent in your vehicles.

If you prefer, you also have the option to “zoom-in” and join us online from your own driveway. It’s a great way to experience the event without leaving home. Challenge your family members and friends to join you! We will begin livestreaming from our event at 7:30 pm on Friday, March 22 on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/BridgeOfHopeCentreCounty.

WHY GET INVOLVED?

Your participation helps those in need right here in Centre County. When you reach your fundraising goal, you and all of your supporters help to provide support towards monthly rent, case management services, and ongoing support for a single-mother-led family. That then allows that family to gain stability and begin to initiate steps toward ending the cycle of family homelessness and poverty. You help provide others the opportunity to a fresh start!

Check out what our past volunteers had to say about participating. Make an impact and challenge yourself, family, and friends today!

“You don’t know what it’s really like until you experience it.”

“We do this so that nobody HAS to do what we are CHOOSING to do.”

“This really drives empathy for those who experience homelessness.”

We would love for more people to join our Night In A Car event!
