AAUW State College is awarding four undergraduate scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. Support from our Centre Region neighbors has allowed us to continue to award scholarships to local women who have stopped out of their college studies. The funds for these scholarships come directly from our Annual Used Book Sale revenues. The membership of AAUW State College is delighted to provide this direct support to Centre County women. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to listen to many compelling stories from our awardees about what these scholarships have meant to them. With the
onging pandemic, family and financial pressures have been tremendous, resulting in many women needing to put their college education on hold to provide support to others, often temporarily or even permanently dashing their personal goals.
Applicants must have interrupted their college enrollment for at least two years; be seeking an associate or baccalaureate degree either on a part-time or full-time basis; and have completed at least 15 credits toward their degree. In addition, applic
ants must be Centre County residents and retain their residency even if attending a college or university outside of the county.
The scholarships range from $3,000 to $7,000 per award. Applications are due by March 1, 2022.
