Greetings CCCHS Members, Fall Theme for Council? Carry On! Whether we like it or not, the casual feel of summer is almost over and everything is kicking up a gear as we head into the fall months. CCCHS has great plans and expectations for the next few months, but a question mark lingers over those plans as covid concerns linger over us all. As I was reflecting on our decisions, I realized we will do our best to carry on with trainings, meetings, and membership benefits the best we can and have a backup plan in place. After all, isn’t that what we are all doing these days? In September, we are excited to welcome members back to an IN-PERSON meeting at Calvary Church on Wednesday, September 1 at 12 PM. As usual, bring your lunch and any materials you would like to share. We will be masked and do our best to both network and remain socially distanced. Each October we love our tradition of Lunch with the Legislators and we want that tradition to continue. As of now, we feel we can safely accommodate everyone in person for this event, although we may not be able to offer lunch. Stay tuned for more information. If guidelines recommend a move to virtual, we will have that option too. As always, Jeannine Lozier will MC this event and welcomes questions to be sent ahead of time to ccchs2@gmail.com. We also wanted to maintain our self-care member benefit and are happy to offer a free VIRTUAL training with our friend Annie Macelli on October 8. Our hope is it’s a Friday and you can enjoy lunch and take the afternoon to learn about practical ways to release worry, stress, and secondary trauma and then take the weekend to reenergize yourself. Those who attend will also get a “freebie” of a 30-minute session with Annie. Don’t forget to register yourself and your co-workers on our website! Lastly, it’s been a while since we offered one of our training opportunities. We’re excited to once again partner with ACAP (Adult Children of Aging Parents) of Centre County to host a VIRTUAL joint training on Advocacy – How to Use Your Voice for yourself, your clients, and your loved ones. This training will also be free of charge and something we can all use a little help with from time to time. Join us on October 29! So, as we all carry on through these next few months, please be rest assured that Council continues to work on ways to maximize your membership. We welcome your feedback and willingness to get involved. Please feel free to contact me anytime! With Warmest Regards, Melissa Bottorf CCCHS President PA Link to ADRC
