The first time I walked through the doors at Park Forest Preschool, I immediately felt comfortable knowing that this was a safe and loving environment for my children. Both of my sons attended PFP from 2016-2020 and looked forward to going to school every morning.

In my oldest son’s first month there, he exclaimed, “Look Mommy, it’s an octagon!” as I drove him down the street. I was so proud of him, and I knew that he was excited and proud of himself.

I was a stay-at-home Mom for 3 years, and when my oldest was 3, I knew some type of structure and learning would be best for him, but finding a place that we were able to afford was a challenge. When I first heard about Park Forest Preschool being tuition free, based on income, I crossed my fingers that we would qualify. I was so thankful that we did!

My youngest had a speech delay, and we are still grateful for the help and support the teachers provided in guiding us toward therapy. I believe that my boys both grew in confidence and knowledge as they learned through play at preschool!

Not only was it great for my sons to be in a new environment, it was great for me too! When my sons went to preschool, I had time for myself and could recharge. I was so thankful for this. At Park Forest Preschool, they offer weekly parenting meetings. I really enjoyed attending these meetings because not only was it a place where we could get to know fellow parents, but it was a wonderful and safe environment for parents to talk about the daily struggles they had and to get input from other parents who experienced similar situations.

When my youngest was in the 3/4 year old classroom, I was very excited to be asked if I would be interested in working in the toddler classroom. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to work with young children. I had taken a few courses in school about Childhood Development and enjoyed being around kids. I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and learning when the preschool offered financial assistance toward a Child Development Associates degree. I cannot thank them enough for that opportunity. I am now the lead teacher in the Toddler Classroom, and I have to say my favorite thing about being a teacher of preschoolers is watching them grow in their learning and development, nothing is more rewarding than that! Park Forest Preschool is truly an amazing place and I will forever be so thankful for all they have done for my children and my family.
